Pindan Projects

Pindan Projects offers you an alternative to the traditional consultant.

Like most of you my volunteer and professional roles have involved contracting and managing consultants and reading a lot of reports authored by consultants.

I often found it a frustrating experience. The problems I encountered included things like:

  • Recommendations that weren’t tied to my budget, current staff capacity or the constraints of the situation
  • Needing to spell check, edit and format poor quality work
  • Receiving a report which just tells me what I already know
  • Knowing that more work is still required to get the findings endorsed, funded and in place

Unlike a traditional consultant Pindan Projects offers two key differences in approach to ensure sustained benefit for your organisation.

The first difference is that we care about transferring skills to your staff so that your organisation benefits in the long run.

We will use training, mentoring and coaching techniques to ensure that your staff gains new skills, knowledge and confidence to undertake similar projects in the future.

Why?

  • The best source of knowledge about problems and potential solutions may already be within your own organisation
  • Engaging your staff means they will more likely own and commit to the changes and be motivated to ensure change is sustained
  • The consultancy can be promoted as a staff development opportunity
  • You end up with more skilled, knowledgeable and confident staff
  • You reduce your future need for more consultants

How?

We will use a range of techniques to engage your staff to the degree that works for you. We can:

  • Involve them in identifying issues and finding solutions through focus groups, surveys, interviews and other methods
  • Identify areas of particular development needs and target activities to strengthen identified organisational or individual gaps in knowledge
  • We can sit along side your staff and mentor them as they undertake the project themselves
  • We can set up a plan for implementation and then regularly visit to monitor progress and mentor staff through problems
  • We can deliver or coordinate formal skills training and development
  • We can evaluate their involvement in the project to demonstrate the benefit

The second difference is that Pindan Projects don’t charge by the hour. If you really, really want us to we can but, we believe that by fixing your investment based on the value of the project that;

  • There is a cap on your investment and consequently no unexpected surprises
  • There is no meter running so you don’t need to worry about how much a phone call or meeting with us is costing you or your staff
  • There is no need to reconcile bills listing every phone call, meeting, car trip and photocopying
  • If I decide additional resources are necessary then I will engage them at no additional cost to you

We believe these two differences are critical to ensure sustained value for your organisation and whatever you are trying to achieve.
